In addition to the three bedrooms, it also has two single beds elsewhere ideal for the kids . We are pet friendly with pre-approval, but do charge a $200 pet fee. The location is a one and a half hour drive from Portland and 15 minutes from the state capitol of Augusta. The first floor features a full kitchen, living room with basic cable TV and open dining area with a cathedral ceiling where you can enjoy your morning coffee and watch the sun rise over the lake or sip an evening glass of wine and look at the moon over 'Big Island'. Two bedrooms on the first floor - both with queen beds, and a single bed on the laundry room - ideal of one of the kids of for anyone who snores !! Several pairs of loons live on the lake and their beautifully haunting call can be heard day and night. Your own island! Who has not dreamed of having one? This little gem of an island can be yours for a week. Little Diamond Island is a 1/4 acre island located in Lake Cobbossee in West Gardiner Maine. Just 20 minutes from the capital city of Augusta you are close to restaurants and shopping but in a setting that is private and close to nature. Little Diamond Island in Lake Cobbossee is a unique lake front vacation rental. Rustic 3 room cabin with lake views from every window. The lake is just steps away in any direction. Sandy bottom swimming areas and the lake is great for boating, canoeing, kayaking or jet skiing. Island vacationing is not for everyone. If you love camping (not the same as RV'ing) you will love this. It is a lot like camping except you have a real bed to sleep in. Rustic in nature there is no electricity or running water. We do provide a composting toilet, propane stove, refrigerator and solar campers shower. Many refer to it as "glamping", glamorous camping. We provide a canoe, life vests and paddles. Its a short 5 minute paddle from the shore where you park your car. Please note we do not have a cleaning service and everyone is expected to clean before departure. This is a peaceful spot for anyone who loves nature. Except for the occasional boat the only sounds you hear are the young osprey begging for food in the nest above the cottage and the mournful cry of the loons as they float past the island. There is parking for 2 cars in the driveway. Any additional cars can be parked on the grass on the side of the house. Not parking on street or on grass between next to the driveway.

Temperatures: Surface - 72 degrees F Maximum depth - 100 feet. Temperatures in the summer on the surface an amazing 72 degrees. Amazing when considered it is covered by 20 inch of ice during winter. Cobbosseecontee is one of central Maine's largest body of water. Fishermen: Cobbossee Lake is noted for its outstanding smallmouth and largemouth bass fishing. Many of the state's largest bass have come from this lake and it is considered one of the best bass lakes in the Northeast. You can fish right from the 30 feet dock or use the canoe. Loon Cottage is located on beautiful Cobbosseecontee Lake in Winthrop, Maine. The cottage has three bedrooms, sleeping 5 people. Loon Cottage has cable TV, Wi-Fi, full kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer. We have an outdoor gas grill, fire pit for roasting marshmallows, picnic table and Adirondack Chairs. Cobbosseecontee is one of central Maine's largest body of water. Cobbossee is noted for its excellent bass fishing, ranked #52 in 2014 by Bassmaster Magazine. The lake has a lighthouse, many small islands and coves, take advantage of our canoe to explore. Our guests can access the Monmouth Boat Launch located a few miles from our house or utilize our boat launch. Our waterfront features a dock, perfect for fishing. Enjoy the echoes of the loons and eagles on the lake! **Docking system is removed at the end of each year at the end of September. **Our max occupancy is 5 persons. Please do not rent with the intention of having additional guests.

Grab your groceries for your stay at Hannaford Supermarket, only 3.5 miles away or schedule some tee times at one of the three nearby golf courses. Augusta (State Capitol) is a 20 min drive and LL Bean and shopping in Freeport is less than an hour away. If you want to spend a day at the coast, Boothbay Harbor is only an hour away. The location is centrally and conveniently located to enjoy Maine in many directions. One hour north of Portland, and only 40 minutes to the famous LL Bean in Freeport. One hour east to the ocean coast of Rockland, 2.5 hours to Acadia National Park. The mountains and western Maine approximately 1 and a half hours west. You can enjoy just relaxing at the lake or take advantage of the multiple hiking , road biking and also mountain bike trails near by. And you can explore all the great outdoor activities and adventures Maine has to offer. This Studio is in an owner occupied home one level ranch. The rental unit is part of the main house but separated from the main house and you will have your own private entrance, private use of 150 feet of lake frontage. The deck is private and for yours to use to have a meal, enjoy the lake and lake views. The stone firepit is terrific for enjoying a warm up after an evening swim or meal or just to hang out and enjoy the sunset. Dry firewood, kindling , paper and fire starter provided.
